Serving Families in Pontiac, Flint, Lincoln Park, Michigan + Surrounding Communities

About Us

At Hispanic Autism Services of Michigan, we believe that every family deserves access to compassionate, high-quality autism services — delivered in a way that feels personal, culturally respectful, and easy to understand.

We provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and family support services in both English and Spanish, helping children build communication, social, and independence skills while supporting parents every step of the way.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide culturally responsive, inclusive, and compassionate ABA therapy to children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental needs. We strive to honor the diverse cultural values, lived experiences, and languages of every family we serve — from Hispanic and Black communities to immigrant, bilingual, and multicultural families
across Michigan.

We meet families where they are, celebrate who they are, and support them with dignity and
respect.

Our Vision

We envision a future where:

  • Children of every race, culture, and background have equal access to high-quality, individualized ABA services.
  • Families feel seen, valued, and included in their child’s treatment.
  • Services honor identity — not override it.
  • Representation is not the exception, but the norm.
  • Community-centered, culturally humble care is accessible across Michigan

This vision guides every decision we make

A Message From Our Founder, Jocelin Henriquez

My name is Jocelin Henriquez, and the journey to founding Hispanic Autism Services of Michigan began long before our doors ever opened. My professional experience includes years of service within the Pontiac School District and Detroit Public Schools in Southwest Detroit, where I worked closely with children from a wide range of racial, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.

During that time, I saw a pattern that troubled me: Black and Brown children — along with many students from immigrant, bilingual, and multicultural families — were often placed into a “one-size-fits-all” system that did not honor who they were as individuals.

  • Children were misunderstood.
  • Families were unheard.
  • Culture was overlooked.
  • Language was treated as a barrier instead of a strength.

Those moments shaped me.

They made me realize how deeply our communities needed services that recognize and respect the richness of their identities. And they became the foundation for what I would later build.

I founded HAS of Michigan to create a place where every family — regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, language, gender identity, or background — is welcomed, understood, and supported. A place where no child is reduced to a label, and no parent feels alone.
